We are Métis

Come In! Visit us on a piece of our homeland, and experience our Métis warmth, culture and lifeways past, present, and future.

Our Story

The Métis are one of Canada’s three Indigenous peoples. We have fought for this status on battlefields and in the highest courts of the land. Success has been hard-won and has created people who are resilient, committed, dynamic, and proud.

Our Heritage

Métis are a distinct Indigenous nation within Canada. The Métis boast a rich heritage. From the iconic sash, a symbol of pride and resilience, to the rhythm of the fiddle as it weaves tales, echoing the melodies of Métis jigging. Experience the spirit of innovation and stewardship passed down through generations.

Our Land

The river and the land are integral to our identity and culture. By practising regenerative tourism, we ensure the continued health of everything we hold dear.

Our Board And Team

From the beginning in 2001, Métis Crossing has been led by a dedicated team and board of directors who have worked to fulfill our vision of a cultural centre conceived, designed and built by Métis people.

Our Partners

We are grateful for the continued support of our partners as we work to become a self-sustaining cultural and tourism destination. Métis Crossing also enjoys the support of many valued corporate partners.
