Metis Crossing is excited to participate in this year’s Métis Week, a week-long celebration dedicated to recognizing and honoring the rich Métis culture, history, and contributions.
As part of the festivities, Metis Crossing is pleased to offer a 15% discount on all signature experiences throughout Métis Week for Métis Nation of Alberta (MNA) citizens and Settlement members. This exclusive discount is an expression of gratitude and appreciation for Alberta’s vibrant Métis community.
Our Signature Experiences provide opportunities for unique experiences on the land at Métis Crossing, sharing Métis stories with visitors in an interactive way. Whether it’s experiencing the beauty of Métis heritage species on the Visions, Hopes, and Dreams at Métis Crossing Wildlife Tour or exploring the unique history, culture, language, and way of life of traditional Métis people through our Meet the Metis experience, there’s something for everyone. These signature experiences are available every day this week, and we encourage you to participate!
On Thursday, November 16th, we will honour and pay tribute to Louis Riel, with drop-in visiting activities open to all. These activities will provide a unique opportunity to reflect on and remember the significant contributions of Louis Riel to Métis history. We invite you to indulge in a special dinner service on Thursday evening. Reservations are required to secure a spot for this memorable dining experience, offering a thoughtful blend of culinary delights and cultural appreciation.
Finally, from November 18th-19th, we’re excited to host a Capote Making Workshop. In this small workshop, you will be guided by Métis Crossing’s Knowledge Holder, Lilyrose Meyers, to transform a wool blanket into a beautiful Métis coat using traditional stitching and decoration.
