Discover Indigenous-Inspired Cuisine

Métis cuisine fuses European and Indigenous culinary traditions, using local ingredients like bison, Saskatoon berries, and bannock. The result is dishes that are distinctly Métis, rooted in heritage and served at the Bistro at the Lodge.

The Métis Dining Experience: Traditional and Modern Takes on Indigenous Cuisine

Food at Métis Crossing is more than a meal. It’s an invitation to connect. Throughout the year, Métis Crossing hosts a range of culinary events that bring guests closer to Métis culture through seasonal menus, storytelling, music, and hands-on cooking demonstrations. From festive holiday brunches to intimate long table dinners, each event is thoughtfully crafted around the season’s bounty and the traditions of the Métis people, offering a dining experience that is both memorable and meaningful.

That same spirit of cultural generosity extends to private and group events. The Cultural Gathering Centre at 11,000 square feet with seating for up to 410 guests is available for corporate meetings, weddings, and cultural gatherings, supported by Métis-inspired banquet menus that weave elements of Métis culture into your occasion. Whether you are planning an intimate celebration or a large-scale event, the team at Métis Crossing is ready to help bring it to life.

State-of-the-Art Indoor Garden

We take pride in our state-of-the-art Indoor Garden, a testament to our commitment to sustainability and quality. Built by local contractor Timbr, this innovative garden allows us to grow fresh produce year-round, ensuring that every dish we serve is made with the highest quality ingredients.

The Indoor Garden is more than just a source of fresh vegetables and herbs; it’s a symbol of our dedication to the environment and our community. By cultivating our own produce, we reduce our carbon footprint and support local agriculture. This sustainable approach not only enhances the flavors of our dishes but also aligns with our values of preserving the land and traditions of the Métis people.

Commitment to Sustainability

A commitment to sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that honoring our cultural heritage goes hand in hand with respecting and preserving the environment. We strive to ensure that our guests enjoy meals that are as good for the planet as they are for the palate.

One of our core sustainability initiatives is local procurement. We source ingredients from local producers and farmers, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting the regional economy. This approach not only guarantees the freshness and quality of our ingredients but also fosters strong community relationships.

Our sustainable practices include harvesting our own bison and cultivating Saskatoon and Haskap berries. This provides us with premium ingredients while also helping to maintain the ecological balance and biodiversity of our land. Our Riverlot Farm yard and Indoor Garden enable us to grow fresh produce year-round, minimizing the need for transportation and ensuring that we serve only the freshest ingredients.

By integrating sustainability into every aspect of our operations, we strive to set a positive example for the industry and our community. Join us and experience how our dedication to sustainability enhances the flavors and quality of our cuisine while contributing to the well-being of our environment and community.
