Situated on 688 acres of historic river lot farms, Métis Crossing has lots to see and discover.

Métis Crossing is Alberta’s first major Métis cultural destination. Created as a place for Métis people to share Métis stories, we welcome everyone to join us for cultural experiences and an opportunity for reconnection with one’s own story.

Métis Crossing offers a variety of accommodations, suiting the needs of our visitors, including camping, trapper’s tents, the Lodge at Métis Crossing, and luxury sky-watching domes. Métis Crossing is a place of joy and hope, sharing the distinct Indigenous story of the Métis people through experiential Métis cultural experiences.


Pet Policy

As we look to protect the permaculture at Métis Crossing, please adhere to the following rules related to pets:
  • No animals are permitted in the Métis Crossing Cultural Interpretive Centre, Deck or all lands east of the Campsite entry access road
  • Pets are welcome and permitted only within the Campsite of Métis Crossing
  • Pets are not permitted near or within the Comfort Camping Trapper tent sites
  • Pets are not permitted at Métis Crossing canoe launch beach
  • Pets must be kept on a leash no longer than 2M in length at all times

To ensure you have a comfortable visit we would like to suggest you bring the following items:
  • Good footwear that may get wet
  • Dress in layers
  • Dress for the weather
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug spray
