Métis Slippers Workshop

The Métis slippers hand sewing workshop is a traditional workshop that specializes in teaching hand sewing skills to make Métis slippers. Our knowledge holder will teach you how to make your own slippers from the basic pattern and how to sew them together using the blanket stitch. Choose one of the three items: wool tufting, beading, ribbon work, or embroidery to decorate your slippers.

The Métis slippers workshop is a great place to learn about traditional craftsmanship and to make a pair of hand-made slippers that are both functional and beautiful.

All materials required for the workshop will be supplied

Food & Beverage: Treat yourself to a tasty meal or refreshing drink at the on-site restaurant at the Cultural Gathering Centre.

*Please note that food and drinks are not included in the workshop fee and will be charged separately.
