Moccasin Workshop
Moccasin 2 day workshop
Join us for the Métis Moccasin hand sewing workshop and learn about the history and traditional techniques of making moccasins, which are a type of footwear traditionally worn by Indigenous people in Canada. The Métis moccasins are typically made of home-tanned hide, and are still worn today by many Métis people as a traditional and functional footwear.
During the workshop, participants will use the traditional materials to make Métis moccasins, such as hides, horsehair and learn ways to decorate the vamps with beadwork and embroidery.
All materials required for the workshop will be supplied
Food & Beverage: Treat yourself to a tasty meal or refreshing drink at the on-site restaurant at the Cultural Gathering Centre.
