Our knowledgeable Métis Interpreter will accompany you on an SUV tour to the paddocks, where you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural beauty of the heritage species, including the rare white bison and elk, woods bison, plains bison, and majestic Percheron horses. Throughout this journey, you will gain an understanding of the interconnected nature of relationships, communities, and natural systems in Métis Culture, as well as the significant role of bison in Métis heritage.

Signature Experience
Join us for the immersive Indigenous experience Through the Eye of Hunter as part of our summer package. Guided by a knowledgeable Métis Interpreter, this journey provides participants with the opportunity to explore the cultural significance of life on the land and the traditional Métis way of life.
See through the eye of the hunter as your Métis interpreter leads you on a river-side trail walk. Discover the diverse plants of the boreal forest, learn about their traditional uses and seasonal cycles, and look for signs of the many animals that call Métis Crossing home.Learn of how Métis people survive on the land and how we relate to the plants and animals that help sustain our communities. In the second half of this exciting experience, you’ll get to practice your bow hunting skills on our natural archery course!
These essential skills were passed down by Métis people, from generation to generation, so we could all learn to provide for our communities, practice sustainable harvesting, and show our respect and gratitude for the lands we call home.
Walking the trails

Taking in some fresh air before heading back and exploring the nearly 10 km of cross country skiing and walking trails at Métis Crossing is a fantastic way to wrap up your package experience. Nestled within the National Historic Site of Canada and along the Historic Victoria Trail, this picturesque site is enveloped by a myriad of trails, pristine boreal forests and stunning valley vistas.
Don’t forget to explore our Cultural Centre with interactive displays, historical artifacts and one of a kind Gift Shop, where you can browse a range of Métis and locally crafted items.
