Embark on a transformative journey through Meet the Métis, our signature experience that inspires, educates, and forges lasting connections with the vibrant spirit of Métis culture. Led by our knowledgeable Métis interpreters, this one-of-a-kind immersive introduction to Métis Crossing will take you on a journey through the history, traditions, and river-lot life of the Métis people.

Métis Dining Experience, The Restaurant

Traditional Métis dinner, a delightful culinary experience that celebrates the richness and diversity of the Métis culture. Guests will be treated to a delicious three-course meal that features locally and sustainably sourced ingredients and will be offered to dine in the warm and inviting ambiance of the Restaurant in the Cultural Gathering Centre.

Day Two
Hot Breakfast, The Bistro

Energize yourself for a day of adventure at Métis Crossing and join us for the continental breakfast prepared by our skilled culinary team, using locally sourced ingredients. Guests can also enjoy specialty coffee and tea to accompany their meal in the warm and inviting ambiance of our fireplace or the scenic vistas of Bistro Deck.

Visions, Hopes and Dreams at Métis Crossing Wildlife Tour – Signature Experience

Visions, Hopes, and Dreams at Métis Crossing Wildlife Park showcases the rich culture and traditions of the Métis community through an immersive and experiential tour, enabling you to connect with nature and forge deep emotional ties with the land and culture. During this experience, our knowledgeable Métis Interpreter will accompany you on an SUV tour to the paddocks, where you can immerse yourself in the breathtaking natural beauty of the Métis heritage species, including the rare white bison and elk, woods bison, plains bison, and majestic Percheron horses. Throughout this journey, you will gain an understanding of the interconnected nature of relationships, communities, and natural systems in Métis Culture, as well as the significant role of bison in Métis heritage.

Lunch, The Restaurant

Indulge on our Métis inspired lunch while enjoying the scenic views of Heritage North Saskatchewan River in the Restaurant at the Cultural Gathering Centre.

Walking the Trails – Self Exploration

Free time to relax or explore. A self-guided walk allows you to explore the property at your own pace and take in all that it has to offer. Strap on your snowshoes (included with each pod) or bring your skis, and set out to explore

more than 10 km of ski trails that wind through the property. Our trails are meticulously maintained and conveniently linked, featuring minimal elevation changes. These trails cater to both experienced adventurers and leisurely walkers, ensuring a rewarding experience for all guests.

Whispers from the Stars & Métis Dining Experience, The Restaurant

The sky, stars, and constellations serve as guiding lights from our ancestors. Hear why the skies were so important to the Métis in settling the west during the fur trade and how they served as a guide relied upon for survival. Listen to how the sky was used as a clock and calendar, providing critical instructions for understanding when to plant, hunt, and work the land. Experience legends and folklore about the Métis, stories that have been observed in our culture for generations during the tea ceremony. Join our Métis interpreters for a dinner of Indigenous inspired cuisine before we head outside to explore the sky.

Join us for hot breakfast – a delicious way to start the day. Our breakfast will fuel you for the journey ahead, whether they are continuing your travels or heading home. Guests can enjoy their hot breakfast in the cozy and inviting ambiance of the lodge’s dining area or take it to go for a convenient and quick meal on the road.
