Our Sky Watching Domes provide a unique opportunity to stargaze and marvel at the wonders of the night sky. With our diverse lodging choices, each visitor can find the perfect setting to create lasting memories in this enchanting place.
Sky Watching Domes
Opening this July, our new Sky Watching Domes offer a unique, luxury experience that will connect you with the night’s sky and stars. The domes include a transparent ceiling, running water, bathroom, concrete heated floors, air conditioning, kitchenette, and electricity. They are available in two configurations: Single Suites, which include a king bed to sleep two comfortably, and Family Suites, which include a king bed, pull out couch, and a bunk bed to sleep six comfortably.
With nearly zero light pollution in the region, guests will spend the night gazing into the sky from the comfort of this luxury accommodation. The sky, stars, and constellations served as guiding lights for our Métis ancestors. As part of your experience at Métis Crossing, you can now sleep under the stars, further exploring how the Métis people used the stars and sky to navigate, and how the sky was used as a clock, calendar, and provided critical instructions for understanding when to plant, hunt, and work the land.
The Lodge at Métis Crossing
The Lodge at Métis Crossing is a 40-room, boutique luxury lodge, located on historical Métis river lots. Whether you are traveling solo in search of some relaxation, with your family or friends, or celebrating a new love on your wedding day or honeymoon, there is a room meant for you at Métis Crossing. We offer a wide variety of suite options, including Family Suites, King Suites, Accessible Suites, and our Executive Suite.
The Lodge at Métis Crossing was created to immerse guests in this unique historical place amongst the land. With in-suite patios and decks, providing views of the North Saskatchewan River and across our 688-acre property. In addition to your own private decks and patio, guests of the lodge can relax and reconnect on our main floor Bistro deck or our second level lounge patio. Embrace your surroundings by enjoying a coffee or traditional land to table Indigenous cuisine, just steps from your room.
Trapper’s Tents
Looking for something in between the camping experience and the lodge experience? Join us in one of our traditional Trapper’s Tents, a ‘Glamping’ experience in our campground. Each tent is equipped with two bunk beds and can sleep four comfortably. There is a wood heater in each tent, and a wardrobe to keep your things. A shower trailer is also available onsite.
Our Trapper’s Tents are situated with a view of the North Saskatchewan River. Offering elevated amenities and superior comfort, the Trapper’s Tents are the perfect way to unwind after a day exploring Métis Crossing.
Camping
Camping is available directly on-site at Métis Crossing, providing the perfect home base for in-between cultural experiences and activities. The Campsite at Métis Crossing is located on a traditional Métis river lot – you’ll enjoy wide open spaces, blue skies, and the gorgeous North Saskatchewan river valley.
We are pleased to offer campers a variety of options including powered RV sites, non-powered RV sites, and tent sites. Additionally, firewood is available to purchase by the bundle for you to enjoy a campfire.
